The typhoid epidemic in the Jewish settlements of the Emek which broke out two weeks ago has abated, following the innoculation of all the settlers, according to a report issued today by the health department of the Jewish Agency. The epidemic’s spread was halted, the report says, by prompt hospitalization, the eagerness with which the settlers submitted to innoculation, the active cooperation of the doctors in the Emek and the readiness with which the government assisted in the transport of the necessary vaccine.
