The United Jewish Appeal delegation touring Europe and Palestine to study at first-hand the requirements of the Jews in Europe and the Jewish state to Palestine arrived in Tel Aviv today.
Immediately following their arrival, the 34 American Jewish communal leaders met with David Ben Gurion, chairman of the Jewish Agency executive, who is reported to have urged them to exercise their influence to lift the U.S. embargo on the shipment of arms to Palestine. The delegation later proceeded to Jerusalem under heavy guard, going at once to the Jewish Agency building for consultations. The exact whereabouts and movements of the delegates are being kept secret owing to the security situation in the country.
