Members of the delegation of the United Jewish Appeal which is on an inspection tour of Israel arrived here today and immediately conferred with officials of the Jewish Agency on the Agency’s current financial needs and plans for the next year. The visiting delegates said they had been overwhelmed since their arrival in Israel with the achievements of the new stats.
The bi-partisan Congressional committee traveling through the Middle East to observe how funds of the International Refugee Organization and the World Health Organization are being expended today visited both the Old City and the Jewish sector of Jerusalem.
Berl Locker, chairman of the Jewish Agency executive in Jerusalem, will leave for the U.S. tomorrow to confer with leaders of the American section of the Agency on U.J.A. and other problems. He will also participate in the forthcoming national conferences of the United Palestine Appeal and United Jewish Appeal.
(The American Federation of Labor has accepted an invitation from the Histadrut to send a delegation of A.F.L. union leaders to Israel, it was learned today in Washington.)
