Plans for the forthcoming United Jewish Appeal Mid-year Leadership Conference, which will bring to Israel 250 young leaders of American Jewry, were announced here today by Rabbi Herbert Friedman, UJA executive vice-chairman. He told a press conference that the participants would all be in their early thirties, all American born and future leaders of the Jewish community. The conference will be held in June.
Rabbi Friedman predicted the 1961 campaign would be even better than last year’s which resulted in $62,000,000 in pledges of which $60,000,000 has already been raised in cash.
