Members of the 145-man United Jewish Appeal Study Mission surprised a group of immigrants arriving at Dimona for settlement today by taking a hand in unloading the baggage of the newcomers, carrying their infants and helping the older Jews.

The immigrants were pleased not only by the large welcoming party of UJA leaders and Jewish Agency officials, but also by the fact that their new homes, though small, were furnished and provided with food for the newcomers’ first days in Israel.,

The UJA leaders said that it was a good idea that they had been given the opportunity to welcome the newcomers, and added that everyone should see how the immigrants were assisted when they arrived in Israel.
