Increase of next year’s budget for care and rehabilitation of Arab refugees from Palestine was suggested today in the annual report of the Advisory Commission of the United Nations Relief Works Agency for Palestine Refugees.
The report seemed, in some respects, milder than the two reports already submitted by the director of UNRWA, Henry R. Labouisse. The latter had indicated in his reports the need for a plebiscite among the refugees to determine whether they prefer repatriation or compensation, and to the possibility that some border rectification may be needed on the Israel-Jordan frontier. Neither of these points is mentioned explicitly in the Advisory Commission’s report.
