The United Nations Commission on Human Rights opened its tenth session here today with the unanimous election of Mahmoud Azmi of Egypt as chairman of the body.
Other officers of the commission, also named without dissent, were Rene Cassin of France, first vice-chairman, Prof. Enrique Rodriguez Fabregat of Uruguay, second vice-chairman, and Jose D. Ingles of the Philippine Republic, rapporteur. The commission agreed to start its session with deliberations on draft international covenants on human rights.
