The United Nations Economic and Social Council today adopted a resolution on statelessness submitted by its Social Committee, providing for the convening of a second conference of plenipotentiaries to revise the draft protocol on the Status of Stateless Persons to improve the legal situation of such people. The Council also endorsed the principles underlying the work of the International Law Commission which is analyzing and seeking to remove the causes of statelessness.
