U.N. Forces Must Remain in Mid-east Until Treaty Signed Mccormack Says

The United Nations forces must not leave the Middle East until permanent peace treaties are signed and full use of the Suez Canal is guaranteed to all nations, including Israel, Rep John W. McCormack. House majority leader said here last night.

Addressing a labor protest against Soviet action in Hungary–Soviet infiltration of the Middle East and Egyptian deportation of Jews, the Massachusetts congressman said that the Hungarian and Israeli situations are basically the same. “Hungary, “he said,” is seeking to gain liberty and Israel, to retain it. “The meeting was under the auspices of the AFL-CIO and the Jewish Labor Committee.
