The new United Nations Special Fund has allocated $320,000 for a new water conservation project in Israel, toward which the Israeli Government is adding 1,200,000 Israeli pounds, according to an announcement here today by the UN’s technical assistance representative in Israel, Eric Ward. The project to be developed in the Hassi Valley, north of the Gaza Strip, is expected to serve as a pilot project for the entire world as far as water conservation management and techniques are concerned.
