United Nations Secretary General Dag Hammarskjold today met with ranking delegates of the United States, Britain and France on the fighting which broke out between Israel and Egypt at El Auja (Nitzana).
While the meeting took place, Dr. Omar Loutfi, Egyptian delegate here, sent a letter to the Security Council blaming Israel for the El Euja development, but admitting that Egyptian action in the demilitarized zone “might have led to inevitable advancement of a few metres inside the demilitarized zone.” He did not request a meeting of the Security Council.
