Asked today if he left there was really any hope of ending the Arab-Israel problem, United Nations Secretary General Dag Hammarskjold told the National Press Club he thought this question reflected a pessimism which he did not find justified.
Mr. Hammarskjold added that while the United Nations has “a long way to go” to solve the Arab-Israel dispute he saw no reason not to have hope of ultimate success.
