Mrs. Golda Meir, Israel’s Foreign Minister, has arrived here from Jerusalem to represent Israel’s views during the forthcoming debate at the United Nations General Assembly on the Arab refugee issue. The Assembly’s Special Political Committee announced today that it will hold 15 sessions on the Arab refugee problem. The debate is scheduled to start early next week.
It had been expected here that the Palestine Conciliation Commission, especially charged by the Assembly last Spring to report on the potentials for “repatriation” of the Arab refugees, would file its definitive 1961 report today. The PCG had made a preliminary report on the refugee issue two months ago, and was to have reported more fully today. However for an unexplained reason, it postponed the issuance of the report.
