The United Nations Technical Assistance Administration has fixed a bud at of $188,000 for expenditures in Israel in 1958. This figure became known here today as David Owen, executive chairman of the UN technical assistance board, held a press conference preparatory to his departure on a six week tour of the Middle East, Southeast Asia and Europe.
The largest single item in the budget is $38,000 to aid Israel’s industrial development and productivity projects. This work will include the furnishing by the UN of 23 experts and fellows to advise and aid the Israel Government in developing automation and servo-mechanistic programs.
