Brig. Gen. William E. Riley, United Nations chief of truce staff, arrived hero tonight to hold discussions with Lt. Col. Moshe Dayan, Israeli commander, over the situation that has arisen following the Israeli occupation Monday of part of the neutralized area, around Government House.
A U.N. communique stated that Gen. Riley would proceed tomorrow to Amman, capital of Transjordan, to discuss the move with Transjordan military authorities. The communique added that “in the course of those conversations it is expected that an arrangement satisfactory to all parties will be worked out.”
