The United Nations was urged here today by the Consultative Council of Jewish Organizations to find more effective means of protecting both human rights or face the danger of “losing prestige.”
The Council made its statement at the meeting of the United Nations Human Right Commission, citing the expulsion of Egyptian Jews and the lack of action in connecting with that outrage as a case in point.
“People whose rights are violated,” declared the Council, in a memorandum, “have little concern for and less appreciation of those juridical considerations and fine distractions” which block effective UN action on their behalf.
