The national executive committee of the United Palestine Appeal met in executive session today to discuss whether or not to accept decision of the Jewish Agency executive in the matter of the leadership of the 1949 campaign of the United Jewish Appeal, in which the U.P.A. is one of the major constituent bodies. (See earlier developments in the U.J.A. controversy on Page 4.)
It was expected that a statement on the position of the organization would be issued at the end of the executive committee’s session, which was held in camera and continued late into the night. (The executive committee was still in session when the Bulletin went to press). Among the speakers at the session was Berl Locker, chairman of the Jewish Agency executive in Jerusalem.
