The State of Israel will receive an immediate advance of $25,730,000 on account of the approximately $65,000,000 grant-in-aid appropriated for Israel under the Mutual Security Act, it was announced by the State Department today.
The advance, which is being made because of the critical need for aid by Israel, will be authorized under letters of temporary agreement exchanged by the State Department and the Israel Embassy here. The final agreement will be signed after Technical Cooperation Administrator Bruce McDaniels arrives in Israel.
