The United States will finance a tourist promotion project in Israel, it was made known today. Israel has been seeking assistance on this project to develop its tourism for two years.
Today Albert E. Earwell, chief of the Near Eastern Division of the International Cooperation Administration, told the House Appropriations Committee that $30,000 from a technical aid sum of $1,600,000 designated for Israel has been earmarked for the Tourist Corporation of Israel. The money will aid Israel to develop its tourist industry which is increasing its role as a dollar-earner. The remainder of the technical assistance will be used for various other purposes.
