United States Ambassador Edward B. Lawson was awarded an honorary fellowship at Bar Ilan University, Israel’s American-sponsored Orthodox university, at ceremonies inaugurating the academic year.
In presenting the award, university president Dr. Pinchas Churgin hailed Ambassador Lawson’s contributions to the institution and said that the award was a sign of the great affection and esteem which the faculty and students had for him.
A cornerstone for a biology building to go up on Bar Ilan’s campus was laid here today by Max Stulman of Detroit. This opened work on the second stage of construction during which all laboratories and lecture rooms for the biology facility will be built.
