Embassy sources described the trip as “personal, ” but the Hebrew press drew attention to the trip, coupling it with news of a new attempt by American statesmen to bring about a peace settlement between Israel and the Arab states.
(Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Farrag yesterday declared at the United Nations that there can be no prospect of peace with Israel until the Jewish State carries out past decisions of the U. N. concerning the Palestine problem. Among these he included repatriation of Arab refugees and payment of compensation to those who left their homes.)
