Lieut. Gen. Clarence Huebner, deputy commander##n-chief of the U.S. zone in Germany, yesterday urged a delegation of the Central Jewish Committee to prevent future demonstrations, such as Thursday’s zone-wide protest rallies against the deportation of the Exodus refugees from Palestine, declaring what meetings outside of the camps might lead to violence.Gen. Huebner revealed to the Jewish leaders, who were accompanied by Judge ##ouis E. Levinthal, newly-appointed advisor on Jewish affairs to the U.S. military ##ommand here, that a German woman who was watching the demonstration here had been arrested by Army investigators when she shouted: “Damned Jews, why didn’t we kill all of them#” He pointed out that if the marchers had heard her, a riot might have occurred. The Central Commitee spokesmen explained that they had taken over leadership of the demonstrations to prevent “extremist elements” from gaining control. Mean while, the military commanders of the Frankfurt and Munich areas issued statements ##aising the orderliness of the rallies.Judge Levinthal has started on a tour of the DP installations to familiarize himself with the situation here. He visited the large Zeilsheim Camp, near Frank##urt, yesterday and later conferred with Paul Edwards, IRO zone director. He will inspect camps in the Kassel region tomorrow.
