The United States made known today that it has dispatched suggestions to President Nasser on revising Egyptian Suez operations plans in line with the six principles adopted last fall by the United Nations Security Council. These six points included freedom of navigation for the vessels of all nations.
State Department spokesman Lincoln White said the United States considers the six principles adopted on October 13 by the Security Council should provide the basis for the future operation of the canal. He said “the suggestions which we have made to Egypt are in terms of achieving an arrangement consistent with those principles.”
