The National Institutes of Health has awarded Dr. Herbert Goldstein, chairman of the Department of Special Education at Yeshiva University’s Graduate School of Education, a five-year $231,771 grant for a research project titled, “Psycho-Educational Research Specialists in Retardation, ” it was announced today.
The project is designed to develop educator research scientists who can work on the mental health problems of mentally retarded children in an educational setting, and evaluate and refine the program for such training. Four Fellows with educational backgrounds will be trained during the first year, with $38, 775 allocated from the grant.
