U.S. Commissioner of Education Earl J. McGrath, who arrived at Lydda airport this morning on a State Department mission to aid Israel resolve her complex educational problems, said today that he is gratified at having been chosen for this assignment. He added that he is already familiar with the Jewish state’s educational difficulties.
Commissioner McGrath stated that he plans to remain in Israel about two weeks, during which time he will arrange for the arrival here in November of a team of American educators who will make recommendations for a complete reorganization of the Jewish state’s educational system.
