Senators John Marshall Butler and J. Glenn Beall, both of Maryland, announced today that payment of $250,000 toward the construction cost of a diagnostic and treatment center for the Jewish Medical Center, Baltimore, has been approved by the Department of Health, Education and Welfare.
The Federal funds for the project will be provided under the Hill-Burton Act and will be in addition to other funds approved under the act for the medical center last year. The total cost of the project is figured at approximately $1,025,794. The application for the government assistance was made by Harry Greenstein, secretary of the Associated Jewish Charities of Baltimore.
