U.S. Deputy Treasury Secretary Stuart Eizenstat told the House Banking Committee on Tuesday that representatives of Holocaust survivors and German companies seeking to settle Nazi-era slave labor claims must both “give considerably” to achieve a settlement. The two sides have narrowed their differences, but remain far apart on a dollar amount.
