State Department sources hinted today that the suspended U. S. economic aid programs in Israel may be resumed in the very near future. Government officials made known that U.S. Israeli negotiations on the economic programs are in an advanced stage. No date for the resumption of the programs was revealed.
Israeli Economic Minister Meir Sherman talked this afternoon with C. Douglas Dillon, Deputy Under Secretary of State for Economic Affairs. Yesterday, Israeli diplomats met with officials of the International Cooperation Administration, the government agency administering overseas aid programs.
