U.S. envoy Anthony Zinni is expected to return to the Middle East soon. The Palestinians want Zinni to declare an end to the seven-day quiet period that Israel has demanded as a condition for implementing cease-fire agreements. Palestinian sources said Zinni could return as soon as Wednesday, but Israeli sources do not expect the envoy in the region before the weekend.
