Despite the Arab League’s blacklist tag, the Pratt and Whitney Company of West Hartford, Conn., intends to increase the business it is already doing with Israel.
Harry Reichert, vice president and export manager of Pratt and Whitney, told the Connecticut Jewish Ledger that his firm considers itself blacklisted, although a recent Arab League pronouncement named only Pratt and Whitney’s parent company, Fairbanks Whitney Corp., and another subsidiary, Fairbanks-Morse and Co., of Chicago, Ill.
Fairbanks-Morse was placed on the blacklist as it has been cooperating with Israel in a plan to evaporate fresh water from the sea. Mr. Reichert said: “We look forward to increasing our business with Israel.” Pratt and Whitney recently sold a jig-boring machine to Israel and has been regularly supplying Israeli aircraft plants with mechanic’s gauges and perishable tools.
