A gift of $100, 000 by the Jacob Levy Foundation will be used for the erection of a building on the new campus of the Hebrew University at Givat Ram, Jerusalem, it was announced here today by Daniel G. Ross, president of the American Friends of the Hebrew University.
The new building, already under construction, is to be called the “Jacob Levy Building for Economics and Social Sciences,” in honor of the late Jacob Levy, prominent New York Jew who died here in 1951 at the age of 76. M.Levy started as a newsboy, worked as a clerk, and; later organized the construction firm of Levy Brothers. In 1898 he graduated with the LL. B.degree from New York University’s Law School.
