The founding of a Hebrew Academy in the United States was announced here tonight at the opening session of the annual convention of the Histadruth Ivrith of America, Hebrew language and culture association. More than 300 delegates are attending the parley which closes Sunday.
One of the major problems facing the convention is a proposal to form a Hebrew Youth Council which would plan and coordinate activities looking toward the vitalizing of spoken and written Hebrew among young Jews in this country. Discussion of the proposal will be preceded by a symposium on the matter and will be followed by the introduction of resolutions at the convention to achieve this purpose.
