U.S. Jewish Chaplains Extend Thanks to British Jews for Hospitality to Servicemen

A huge flag bearing a Mogen David, the tablets of the Ten Commandments and the initials of the Jewish Hospitality Committee, which will soon be hoisted over the first recreation and welfare center for Jewish troops in Germany, was exhibited here at a banquet marking the end of a symposium in which many American Jewish chaplains participated.

A scroll inscribed with a Mogen David and an American eagle was presented to Lord Nathan, head of the hospitality committee, by U.S. Chaplain Samson Shain, as a token of appreciation for the hospitality extended American Jewish servicemen by British Jews. Speakers, who included representatives of the National Jewish Welfare Board, expressed the hope that the cooperation between the Jews of Britain and the U.S. would extend into the post-war period.
