U.S. Jewish groups expressed concern for the welfare of Russian media tycoon Vladimir Goussinsky, who was arrested Tuesday on charges of embezzlement. Goussinsky, head of the Russian Jewish Congress, “enjoys the strong support” of the U.S. Jewish community, which “attaches the highest priority to” his well- being, according to the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations and the NCSJ, which monitors human rights in the former Soviet Union.
