Appeals to American Jews to support the campaign in this country for the World Memorial for Jewish Martyrs which is being erected in Paris were issued today by the American Jewish Committee and the Jewish Labor Committee.
“The project of the erection in Paris of the Tomb of the Unknown Jewish Martyr should strike a responsive chord in the hearts of all freedom loving people, both Jews and Non-Jews alike. It will be a symbol of man’s inhumanity and strengthen our struggle against future would be dictators who might seek to imitate Hitler’s cruelties,” Jacob Blaustein, president of the AJC, said in his appeal.
