U.S. Jewish groups that are calling for National Security Adviser Sandy Berger’s resignation do not speak for the vast majority of Jews, the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism said in a letter to President Clinton. “Some opponents of the peace process are wrenching Mr. Berger’s words out of context and distorting them beyond recognition,” the center said, referring to groups that objected when Berger described recent Israeli-Palestinian violence as both a blessing and a curse.
