U.S. Jewish representatives urged human rights be discussed at the U.S. Soviet summit in Iceland. Secretary of State George Shultz promised it would be at the top of the agenda. Outside the summit meeting, Jewish activists and families of refuseniks from a half dozen countries pleaded the cause of Soviet Jewry.
