The Jewish National Council of Palestine today directed an appeal to Jewish leaders in the United States asking them to exert pressure on the Allied nations to secure transportation facilities for the 30,000 Jews who can still enter Palestine under the provisions of the British White Paper.

The appeal urges the Jews, of America “to evidence brotherly responsibility” with regard to the Jews in Europe who can still be saved from the Nazis. In addition to insisting that transportation be secured for refugee Jews wishing to go to Palestine, the Jewish National Council also emphasizes that American Jews must make stronger efforts to secure refuge for Jews from Europe in countries outside Palestine.
