The sum of $190,000 was contributed by the Jews in the United States to the Keren Kayemeth last year, the Jewish National Fund in Palestine, it was announced here by the headquarters of the fund.
The sum also includes donations in land made by American Jews to the fund. It is $30,000 less than the sum contributed during the same year by the Jews of Great Britain. It is only $9,000 more than the sum contributed by the Jews of Poland.
The Jewish National Fund now holds in trust for the Jewish people 341,856 metric dunams of land. Of these 161,459 dunams are in the Emek, 43,005 dunams in the Sharon Plain, about 42,000 in Judaea and about 40,000 in the Emek Zebulun. In the Jordan Valley the fund owns approximately 30,000 dunams of land.
