American Jews will have to develop programs for the rehabilitation of Jews throughout the world after the war “if the peace is to be won,” Prof. Salo W. Baron of Columbia University declared last night in the keynote address delivered at the general session of the annual meeting of the National Conference of Jewish Social Welfare, being held here in the Hotel Seneca.

As a result of the immediate effect of the war upon the Jewish communities in America – and upon the American community as a whole – all Jewish communal agencies will be forced to readjust their functions, he stated. Relief activities in particular will undergo serious transformation as a result of the curtailment of immigration, the problems of enemy aliens, the rising cost of living and budgetary uncertainties, Prof. Baron stressed.
