American Jews must help Israel not only with funds but also with manpower, Meir Grossman, member of the Jewish Agency executive, told a luncheon here upon his arrival in the United States on route to Argentina where he will aid the United Israel Appeal campaign.
The luncheon was arranged by Morris Weinberg, publisher of The Day, New York Yiddish daily newspaper of which Mr. Grossman is a staff member. The Agency executive member, reporting on economic difficulties in Israel, said that the reservoir of immigrants from European countries for Israel is being exhausted and that it is highly important for the Jewish state to have immigrants from the United States. Mordecai Danzis, editor of The Day, presided at the luncheon.
