The United States Maccabi Association, to be organized as a branch of the World Union of Maccabees, will launch a nation-wide movement to enroll members shortly, Nathan L. Goldstein, president of the Association, announced yesterday. The immediate object of the Association is to link the youth of America with the youth of Europe in a Zionist-athletic group which holds quadrennial Maccabiads in Palestine.
At a recent dinner-meeting of the executive committee, Mr. Goldstein was elected president and Assemblyman Albert D. Schanzer, of Brooklyn, was named secretary. An executive secretary will be appointed later by Mr. Goldstein.
