A marine archaeological expedition will explore the coastal waters of Israel this spring under the direction of Edwin. A. Link, it was announced today by the America-Israel society and Princeton Theological Seminary, the institutions jointly sponsoring the project.
The expedition, in preparation nearly three years, will use a specially equipped diesel ship. It will seek to recover ancient objects from the bottom of the sea that may shed new light on the early sea routes of the ships of King Solomon and other ancient rulers. A principal point of the exploration will be the sunken harbor of Caesarea.
