U.S. Middle East envoy Dennis Ross agreed to visit the region within the next two weeks if there are signs of progress in Israeli-Palestinian negotiations. Defense Minister Yitzhak Mordechai reportedly telephoned Ross to urge U.S. officials to help bring the deadlocked talks to a successful conclusion.
