The 30th annual convention of the Mizrachi Women’s Organization of America concluded here today with the adoption of a budget of $1,125,000 for the organization’s operations in the next 12 months and the re-election of Mrs. S. Deborah Ebin as national president. A national board of 64 members was also elected.
The sum of $475,000 was earmarked in the budget for the maintenance and expansion of children’s villages in Israel which are preparing for an expected influx of Jewish children from North Africa. The delegates also approved budget items of $150,000 for education and vocational training; $200,000 for afforestation and land reclamation work through the Jewish National Fund; $135,000 for social service work among Israel’s recent immigrants and $165,000 for equipment and supplies to Israel, cultural and educational work among American youth, and miscellaneous administrative expenses in Israel and the United States.
