Mischa Elman, the violinist, has been selected by the State Department as “musical ambassador” to South America. He will appear next Spring and Summer at recitals and concerts in United States embassies and legations, according to an announcement by James Clement Dunn, of the State Department, made public today by the Mischa Elman Non-Sectarian Refugee Concerts.
Mr. Elman will leave for South America in the middle of May upon the completion of a three-month tour of the United States for the benefit of refugees.
