The National Council of Negro Women in the United States has decided to include Israel in the tours sponsored by the organization, it was announced here by Mrs. Gerry Major, a member of the Council and of the editorial boards of Jet and Ebony, two of the leading mass-circulation Negro magazines in the United States.
Mrs. Major and seven other members of a visiting delegation, representing the Council, were received here by Mrs. Rachel Shazar, wife of Israel’s president.
President Zalman Shazar today received a group of 16 editors of African newspapers before their departure, following a 10-day visit to Israel. During their visit here, the editors, who were guests of the Israel Journalists Association, also met with Foreign Minister Golda Meir and Agriculture Minister Moshe Dayan. The visiting editors represent the leading newspapers and broad casting networks in Ethiopia, Ghana, Nigeria, Northern Rhodesia, Sierra Leone and Tanganyika.
