U.S. President George W. Bush reportedly will visit Israel next month.
Several Israeli news organizations are reporting that Bush will make an official visit to Israel in January. It is not clear whether he will visit other countries in the region or meet with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.
It will be Bush’s first visit to Israel since becoming president. He visited Israel in 1998, when he was the governor of Texas.
The visit comes on the heels of the Bush administration’s peace conference last week in Annapolis, Md.
