U.S. public finance officials meeting in New York postponed for 60 days any consideration of sanctions against German banks and industry accused of profiting from the use of slave laborers during World War II. The officials made the move after Jewish officials said they were satisfied with the pace of negotiations regarding a German compensation fund for slave laborers.
