The executive of the United Religious Bloc of America today made public the text of a cable sent during the week-end to Israel Premier David Ben Gurion, who rebuked the Bloc for interfering in the internal affairs of the Jewish state by demanding increased religious education in the immigrant camps in Israel.
The United Religious Bloc pointed out in its cable to Mr. Ben Gurion that the organization never meant to throaten the Israel Government but merely expressed the deep concern of religicus Jewry over the religious conditions in the camps and requested the amelioration of these conditions.
“All our statements stressed the recognition of your serious approach to resolve satisfactorily the matter of religious discrimination against religious children in the camps, ” the cable said. “We also expressed our fullest support to the Jewish state and our increased effort on behalf of the United Jewish Appeal in this country.”
